Short daily prayers to help you get through the day

Morning Prayers: Boost Your Faith with Short Daily Prayer Opportunities

Short Morning Prayers

There are short daily prayer opportunities that everyone can take advantage of. Whether you’re short on time or just want to spend more time with God, short prayers before work or school can give you the motivation and frame-of-mind to make it through the day. Combine a prayer for healing with healing scriptures and you can harness the power of Jesus to heal the sick! Morning prayers allow us to start our day in a positive way while also taking care of ourselves spiritually too.

A Morning Prayer for God’s Guidance

If you’re feeling overwhelmed with life’s responsibilities, start your day out with a short prayer for God’s guidance. It will allow you to stay centered and focused on what matters most. Plus, it will give you that short-term relief needed to get through your day without taking it too far!

A good morning prayer for God’s guidance may sound like this:

Father, I don’t know what trials I will face today, but I know that you do. I need your help to make it through today. Guide my steps, my thoughts, my words, and my actions so that I may be a good ambassador for Christ today. Thank you for all your blessings. In Jesus name. Amen.

Morning Prayer Before Work

Work is hard enough. If you don’t mind the daily tasks, usually you have trying co-workers, irate bosses, or frequent interruptions that keep you from working. Saying a quick prayer before work can help you tune out all of these distractions so you can focus and work as if for the Lord (Colossians 3:23).

Before work, try praying something like this:

Heavenly Father, be with me at work today. Give me patience , knowledge, and understanding to effectively do my job. Help me to remember that I am your representative even while I am at work. Keep me from sinful actions and desires as I experience daily trials at work. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen

A Morning Prayer for Strength

Pain and suffering in this life can physically, mentally, and spiritually drain us. Often, I feel so weak and need God to provide me with the strength to even get out of bed and start the day. Take heart, for even Jesus prayed to the Father for strength.

If you need to say a prayer for strength, try something like this:

Lord in Heaven, I am weak. In this I can rejoice, for when I am weak, you are strong. I need your strength today. Please grant me the power to go out today and do your will. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen

A Morning Prayer for Courage

Fear is a liar. It’s more than a popular contemporary Christian song. It’s the truth. If God is with us, what do we have to fear. Churchill said: “We have nothing to fear but fear itself.” While partially true, I fear only God, but I need to remind myself of this at times with prayer.

My prayer for courage might go like this:

Father in Heaven, grant me courage today. I have been living in fear, and I know that if I fear you, there is nothing on Earth I have to fear. Please give me a spirit of courage to do your will and be your ambassador today, Lord. For it is in Jesus’ name I ask. Amen.

Gratitude Morning Prayer

We can get so wrapped up in our own wants and needs, we forget that God also wants our gratitude. In fact, In Luke 17, Jesus is astounded that only one of the lepers he healed comes back to thank him. I’m sure God is constantly dismayed that we don’t offer gratitude more often.

A morning gratitude prayer could go like this:

Father forgive me. I get so wrapped up in what I want and what I need that I forget to thank you for all you do. I appreciate all you have done, and all you are going to do. I thank you for the blessings, and I thank you for the trials. You are great when my life is good, and you are great when I struggle. Thank you so much Lord, In Jesus’ name. Amen.

A Morning Prayer of Praise

Praise seems like gratitude, and the two are synonyms. A prayer of praise is more for glorifying God for who he is instead of what he has done. This is another situation where we tend to get so wrapped up in ourselves that we forget to acknowledge who God is.

A morning prayer of praise might be said this way:

God, you are great. Your name is set apart. You will bring your kingdom and your will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. You provide for me, you counsel me, and you protect me. You are the source of all that is good. In Jesus’ name. Amen

Morning Prayer For Inner Peace

The world is chaotic. It is unpredictable, and it can be frustrating. While all of the world may be crumbling around you, God wants you to have peace. Not peace in the way the world thinks of peace, but inner peace. The calm within the storm. Like the eye of a hurricane, this peace exists inside a raging storm.

Asking God for this inner peace could be prayed this way:

Heavenly Father, grant me inner peace today. When the disciples were panicked at the storm, they sought Jesus to calm the sea. I seek you not to calm the storm, but to grant me peace in the midst of the storm. For you are my anchor, you will keep me still and safe while I experience this tempest. Thank you for the peace you provide. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Morning Prayer For Protection

Threats are scary. Whether it is physical, emotional, spiritual, or another kind of danger, there are times we cannot keep ourselves safe. God never calls us to live a safe life. He designed the world to be dangerous so that we are required to call on him for protection.

A morning protection prayer could go like this:

Father, I seek your protection today. I know you didn’t promise a safe world, but I am feeling very vulnerable at this moment. Keep me safe and protect me from any and all threats today. I thank you for your protection and provision in my life. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Morning Prayer For Success

We all want to be successful, but in life we experience disappointment and failure. While these make excellent learning experiences, there is nothing like the feeling success brings. It is important to understand that without God, there would be no successes.

Bearing that in mind, asking God for success is the greatest strategy:

My God, I really could use a win right now. I know that you are God through success and failure. In this moment, success would mean so much to me. If it is in your will, grant me success in this endeavor. May my success give you glory and bless your heart. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

A Simple Morning Prayer

Saying a simple morning prayer daily is a great way to start your relationship with God. Whether you are a new Christian, or a seasoned believer, short daily prayers will prove to be a vital part of your day. I urge you to make time to pray to God early in the morning, and late at night.
